Take a look at this article in the London Evening Standard about the gorgeous Kimberley Holladay and Virgin Holidays successful attempt to hold the largest ever Burlesque dance in Trafalgar Square recently. They got together a hundred dancers in corsets, girdles and stockings to break a record most people never knew existed. Now that’s a charitable act in my opinion and Virgin should be congratulated on it.
Reactions to the ad have been mixed, but I love this corseted and gartered Burlesque look and only wish I’d known about the event. I could have added another minibusfull to the total!
On second thoughts… only a hundred… feel a burlesque flash mob coming on?
I think the next Joanna’s Wardrobe Showcase may well be influenced by Virgin and Kimberley… Corsets – check. Girdles – check. Stockings – check. Opera gloves – check. Working on the boas, watch this space!
