Valentine's Competition - win a £25 Gift Voucher!

On 1^st February I’ll be putting a couple of Showcases on Joanna’s Wardrobe for Valentine’s Day.

As those of you who follow Joanna’s Wardrobe will know, each showcase highlights nine items and is based around a theme, intending to give you ideas and inspiration for your lingerie purchases and gifts. This year I thought we’d do two Valentine’s Showcases, one of things that a man would most like to see on a woman, and one of things a woman would most like to receive as a gift. Because as we all know they’re not necessarily the same thing! Hopefully it will help men to know what to buy as a gift for their wife or girlfriend, and help women to know what they could buy and wear as a gift for their man on the big day.

As an added bit of fun I thought I’d ask you all what you’d like to see in these showcases – with men letting me know what they’d like to see on their wife or girlfriend, women letting me know what they’d like to receive as a gift, and a little paragraph about why.  As an incentive, I’m offering a £25 gift voucher, which I’ll give to what I think is the best idea.  I won’t publish your name or any other details, I’ll just use the words you give me. And you can enter as many times as you like.

Virgin Holidays Burlesque Dance Record

Take a look at this article in the London Evening Standard about the gorgeous Kimberley Holladay and Virgin Holidays successful attempt to hold the largest ever Burlesque dance in Trafalgar Square recently.  They got together a hundred dancers in corsets, girdles and stockings to break a record most people never knew existed. Now that’s a charitable act in my opinion and Virgin should be congratulated on it.

Reactions to the ad have been mixed, but I love this corseted and gartered Burlesque look and only wish I’d known about the event. I could have added another minibusfull to the total!

On second thoughts… only a hundred… feel a burlesque flash mob coming on?

I think the next Joanna’s Wardrobe Showcase may well be influenced by Virgin and Kimberley… Corsets – check. Girdles – check. Stockings – check. Opera gloves – check.  Working on the boas, watch this space!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We’re so excited here at Joanna’s Wardrobe, after much battling with technology we are proud to announce that we have just launched our new look site! After considering many of our customers useful comments we have revamped the site so it’s much easier to navigate around and browse the gorgeous lingerie products we have on offer.

As usual we want to make it more than just a shopping cart and try to give you some inspirational ideas together with some fabulous pictures to fuel your imagination. To kick off the start of 2011 our inspiration is from the fabulous new winter collection from retro inspired lingerie designer Kiss Me Deadly. Most of the images - inspired from original 1st and 2nd World War propaganda posters encouraging women to “do their bit” towards the war efforts - were put together by Catherine from Kiss Me Deadly and her beautiful resident model, Morgana.  We added a few more to make the numbers up and give you a showcase we think is colourful and a bit cheeky!
